I dont know how many of you out there are soccer fans… I wasn’t really until the World Cup this year. And, I must admit, my favorite moment of the whole friggin thing was Zidane’s headbutt. Now sure it was unsportsmanlike conduct to the extreme but you can’t tell me it wasn’t the single greatest TV moment in recent memory. I mean… well here, watch it for yourself.
Ok ok I know, I’m horrible. I’m a barbarian and probably have just confirmed every woman’s notions of men being pigs but COME ON! That was awesome right?
There’s a problem though… I was sitting watching TV tonight and every time someone leaned towards anyone else, I kept rooting for them to just !BAM! smack their head into the other person’s chest. But its not just TV now either. I’m warning you, if you watch that clip too many times you’ll end up like me… Next time you have to deal with that annoying co-worker, the thought will flash across your mind. The next time you’re in the Post Office, DMV, or any other government staffed building for that matter, remember my warning as you silently picture the crown of your head planted firmly in that annoying public servant’s face.
So you see, that’s why this clip is so great. Its not JUST about the moment. Its that in that instant Zidane did what I’ve wanted to do to countless people… just today! So, if you happen to find youself walking around picturing headbutt after headbutt with a silly grin plastered across your face, don’t blame me. Blame the French.

1The French are usually responsible.

3Considering what the other guy ‘allegedly’ said to Zidane, he better be grateful all he had to hit him with was his head!
